Management Team

  • Andrew Cohen

    President and CEO

    Years of Experience: 21 years in the IT industry
    Education: Florida State University graduate with studies in Management and Computer Science

    Andrew, a Florida native, founded Vertical IT Solutions in 2002. During the past 21 years, he has led several technology organizations, including national and local organizations. Andrew assumes full management responsibility for Vertical IT Solutions, including delivering on the company's vision of being a trusted and valued outsourced IT department. His passion, leadership, and community involvement has become a hallmark of his tenure at the company and is known for his devotion to building closer relationships with Vertical IT customers and partners.

    Andrew's sense of community is focused on business, leadership and children. This is reflected in his board leadership with many business and non-profit organizations including CEO Council of Tampa Bay, The Glazer's Children Museum, Mental Health Care, MHC Foundation, Leadership Tampa Alumni, Child Abuse Council, University of Tampa Board of Fellows, and Lockwood Links Community Association.

  • Joel Wonicker-Cook

    Director of Sales & Marketing

    Years of Experience: 20+ years
    Education: Bachelor of Arts, Ripon College — Major: Philosophy; Minor: Physics

    Joel has been selling outsourced IT services for over a decade. His primary responsibility at VIT is directing the business development and account management activities. He's also responsible for developing solutions and agreement, managing client relationships, mentoring and growing the VIT sales team, and making customers smile.

  • Tim Coker

    Director of Technology

    Years of Experience: 23 years in Electronics and IT
    Education: Attended University of Florida; 5 yrs in the U.S. Coast Guard

    Prior to joining VIT, Tim held the prominent position of Fire Control Technician in the U.S. Coast Guard. He's been the jack of all engineering trades with an extensive work history in this area; PC Support and Unix Engineer at W.S. Badcock Corp, Systems Engineer, Managing Consultant at Bay Data Consultants, and Engineering Manager at Allnet Consulting.

  • Steve Shaw

    Director of Service Delivery

    Years of Experience: 26+ years
    Education: Graduated from the University of Tampa with a BS in Management and was a member of Beta Sigma Delta, the International Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration

    Steve joined Vertical IT Solutions after retiring from a 26-year career with Verizon Communications. At VIT, he is responsible for managing IT change and release as well as overseeing the planning and execution of disaster recovery. Outside the office, he's active in the community as a program coordinator for the Saturday Scholars Foundation, Steve led a team that delivered free tutoring to at-risk middle school students. He resides in Lutz with his wife and his son.

  • Wendy Cohen

    Director of Finance & Administration

    Years of Experience: 14+ years
    Education: Graduated with a BS in Finance from Florida State University

    Wendy has more than 14 years of experience working in the financial sector. Her responsibilities at VIT include management of all Accounting, Human Resources, Purchasing, and finance functions. Prior to joining Vertical IT, Wendy worked with a large Florida-based financial institution as an internal auditor. Her previous experience not only provides her with a background in financial accounting, but also includes control procedures and quality review processes.
